A LITTLE MORE KNOW-HOW.

How to schedule Facebook Page Reels in SocialRoster

By Aaron Colbry, founder of SocialRoster · Updated

Connect the correct Facebook Page, prepare a compatible Reel and verify its processing result. SocialRoster’s current Facebook flow is video Reels, not generic Page posts.

Current product: YouTube-only. New plans support 2 or 6 YouTube channels at $19.99 or $29.99 per month. Older provider and pricing references below are retained for legacy customers, not new connection offers. Existing subscriptions and scheduled posts are preserved. Current plans and fair use.

EVERY LITTLE DETAIL COUNTS.

TikTok status: Coming soon. TikTok scheduling and publishing are coming soon. Your existing posts, drafts and connection are kept. The TikTok guidance in this guide is general preparation advice, not an available SocialRoster publishing flow. For YouTube, check account permissions and publishing status before scheduling.

SocialRoster’s current Facebook publishing path uploads video Reels to a connected Facebook Page. It does not publish to personal profiles or provide generic photo, link-preview or text-only Page posting. Connect the correct Page, prepare a compatible video and check the result after scheduling.

Confirm the Page before importing the batch

Meta’s Facebook Reels API uses a Page access token and an upload session for a Reel. SocialRoster’s Facebook authorization flow stores the selected Page identifier and access token, and its publisher targets that Page’s video_reels endpoint. See source 1.

  1. Connect Facebook from Accounts using an account with access to the intended Page.
  2. Check the resulting Page name and destination when you manage more than one Page.
  3. If access changes or authorization fails, inspect the connection and reconnect as appropriate before scheduling more content.
  4. Keep personal-profile plans outside this workflow; the Page connection does not authorize posting to a personal timeline.

Prepare a Reel, not a generic feed post

The current Content Library imports MP4, MOV, M4V and WebM video files, with up to 50 videos total in that browser. Those are importer formats, not a promise that every file will pass Facebook’s Reel validation. SocialRoster’s Facebook-specific checks require MP4, MOV or M4V and a readable duration of 4–60 seconds; WebM is rejected by this route. When dimensions are available, the app checks for vertical 9:16 framing and at least 540×960 resolution. These are product-specific checks, not universal limits for all Facebook video formats. Check Meta’s current Reels reference for its container, dimensions, duration and encoding requirements before preparing a large batch. An MP4 extension alone does not prove compatibility.

  • Play the final file and confirm the caption, audio and important on-screen text are correct.
  • Prepare the post title and caption/hashtags; the current publisher sends these as Reel metadata.
  • Do not upload an image or a webpage URL expecting a photo or link-preview post. Those are not this workflow.
  • Keep source files outside the browser library so clearing local data does not remove your only copy.

Schedule and verify a small batch

  1. Import representative finished video files and select the clips you intend to schedule.
  2. Choose the connected Facebook Page destination and finish the post title, caption and hashtags.
  3. Set individual times or a batch interval, then check the full calendar for conflicts.
  4. Approve only the intended queue. Do not schedule the same Reel in a second tool.
  5. After the attempt, inspect the returned result and the Page. A processing state or upload reference does not yet confirm that the Reel is publicly visible.

Why a Reel can still be processing

The Facebook flow initializes an upload session, transfers the hosted video and asks Facebook to finish publication. SocialRoster initially records the returned video identifier with a processing state. Meta’s reference separates upload, status and publication steps. Verify the outcome rather than creating a second Reel immediately when the first is still processing. See sources 1 and 2.

Troubleshooting the actual failure

  • Wrong Page: confirm the destination connection before resuming; do not assume a familiar Facebook login means the correct Page was selected.
  • Access or permission error: inspect the account authorization and Page access, then reconnect if appropriate.
  • Media rejection: use the provider’s error details and current Reels requirements to correct the export.
  • Processing delay: check the existing video reference and Page before trying another upload.
  • Rate limit: pause and follow the provider response rather than repeatedly submitting the same Reel.

When a different workflow is needed

Use a native or other supported tool if you need personal-profile posts, static photos, text-only posts or link previews. SocialRoster’s Facebook Page Reels path is not interchangeable with those formats. Instagram and YouTube are separate destinations with their own requirements; TikTok connecting, scheduling and publishing are Coming soon.

Questions

Can SocialRoster automatically post to my personal Facebook profile?
No. The current Facebook integration targets a connected Page’s Reels surface, not a personal profile.
Can I schedule Facebook photos or link-preview posts here?
Not through the current Facebook publishing flow. It uploads video Reels; it does not create generic photo, link-preview or text-only posts.
Does an accepted upload mean my Facebook Reel is live?
No. Check the processing result and Page before treating the Reel as published. Do not create a second upload just because the first is still processing.
Should I schedule the same Reel in SocialRoster and another tool?
No. Give the Reel one publishing owner to avoid duplicate uploads.
